Beautiful 1920s and 30s shoes

I adore 1930s shoes and I have been amassing a great collection of 1920s and 30s shoe pins that I would like to share here. I never cease to be amazed at the at the elegance and sophistication of some of the designs and I would dearly love to own them or see them reproduced for the modern market. I think the shoes with cut-outs and geometrical patterns are some of my favourites from designers such asÂ Schiaparelli, and Perugia.

Miss L Fire 2013 Autumn/Winter Collection

I’m a big fan of UK based Miss L Fire. Stunning shoes with styles so reminiscent of the 30s, 40s and 50s. Here are my favourites for the coming European season. The Cleopatra is the style I like most. They have a very 1930s feel about them. I have included a few large pics to show detail and then smaller ones with the colour range.

The cost of being a well-dressed flapper – 1926

Great article I found on the Retronaut website about high-end fashion in the 20s. The cost of Â $346 in 1926 is equivalent toÂ $4,414 today!! Clara Bow is the model here.

Vintage colour swatch: Bold Black and white

So, I thought I would do something fun and write a regular post every 2 weeks that focuses on a particular colour. I will also include pics showing all sorts of vintage fashion items that were produced in varying shades of that colour, hopefully to inspire some new outfit combinations in the future and some possible purchases.

Black and white:Â Yes, I’m generally a fan of darker colours like black and navy, so I’ve always been a fan of 1930s Coco Chanel. Even her home was decorated in black white tones, which at the time, was quite daring. Schiaparelli also used black and white very well in some of her clothing lines. Anyhoo, I love the contrast of black and white garments and the streamlining they give the body. Here are some lovely examples that I have found.
